Local linksters earn honors
Western Dubuque's Ali Daly, Rochelle Beardsley and Jordan Azbell, along with Beckman's Bennet Klostermann and Ellie Ament were recently honored by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association with inclusion on its 2010 all-state golf team.

Daly was a first-team selection in Class 4A. The Bobcat senior was a three-time state qualifier. She capped off her prep career with a fifth-place finish in the state tournament. She finished sixth in both 2009 and 2008.

Klostermann earned first-team all-state accolades in Class 2A. The senior placed 13th at this year's state meet and was a four-time qualifier, along with his Blazer teammates. He placed 10th in 2009, was 22nd in 2008 and was 44th during his freshman campaign.

Ament earned first-team recognition in Class 2A. Ament, a sophomore, was the state runner-up this year. The two-time state qualifier, placed fourth as a freshman.

Beardsley, a freshman, was a second-team all-state selection in Class 4A. She qualified with the Bobcat team for the state meet this year and tied for 22nd.

Azbell, a junior, was a second-team all-state selection in Class 3A. He qualified for state this year as an individual and placed fifth. The three-time state qualifier placed 11th in 2009 and was 38th in 2008.
