Blazers earn 19-3 WaMaC record
Beckman wiped out the competition at Manchester on July 7. The Blazers defeated West Delaware, 10-0, in five innings, twice, in WaMaC Conference baseball action.

"It's been a real interesting couple of weeks," coach Tom Jenk Jr. said. "We played doubleheaders everyday for a week, then off for four days with rain, then back at it against an always tough team - West Delaware.

"(I wasn't sure) how we would respond. We picked up right where we left off. We jumped off to an early lead and then rode the experience of Ike (Isaac Willenbring) and Eric (DeSousa). We feel pretty good about where we are at, going into tournament play."

Willenbring struck out six, walked one and allowed just one hit in the first-game victory.

Dustin Jacque had a big game, batting 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and a three-run home run.

Craig Kerper was 2-for-3. Lucas Jacque hit a two-run home run. Willenbring, Nate Steger and Connor Golden each had one hit. DeSousa struck out seven, walked three and allowed two hits in the second-game victory.

Kerper was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Lucas Jacque was 2-for-3. Willenbring had a three-run home run. Dustin Jacque, Tim Stelken and Ethan Lawrence each had one hit.

On July 8, Beckman defeated Columbus, 4-2, at home to end the season with a 19-3 conference record and 30-5 overall record. "This was a good high school baseball game between two groups of guys who like to compete," Jenk Jr. said. "Right now, we are doing the things necessary to be playing baseball in late July. We just need to make the routine plays routine, stay even keel and keep getting better until Aug. 1."

Steger struck out one, walked three and allowed two earned runs on five hits for the win. Willenbring pitched the save. He struck out three.

Stelken had a two-run single in the first to spark the Blazers. Dustin Jacque, DeSousa, Steger, Stelken, Robbie Anstoetter and Lucas Jacque each had one hit.
