Ed-Co, MV leaders receive accolades
Three Vikings and two Wildcats recently were honored by the coaches of the Tri-Rivers conference with inclusion on the 2010 all-conference baseball team.

Edgewood-Colesburg's Nick Dugan earned first-team honors. Ed-Co's Jordan Bahls and Maquoketa Valley's Kyle Whitman were second-team selections. Mason Clark, of Ed-Co, and Colt Feltes, of MV, both earned honorable mention status. The complete team follows.

First team: pitchers - Tyler McCreary (Alburnett) and Logan Felton (Monticello); catcher - Mike Meisheid (North Linn); first base - A.J. Reuter (Monticello); second base - Vincent Mossman (East Buchanan); third base - Jordan Gerbracht (East Buchanan); short stop -Dugan (Edgewood-Colesburg); outfield - Jaye Nauman (North Linn), Dan Hosch (Monticello) and Evan Ressler (Cascade); utility - Jake Green (Cascade) and Tanner Pease (North Linn).

Coach of the year - Roamn Hummel (Cascade).

Second team: pitchers -Bahls (Edgewood-Colesburg) and Eric Knuth (Cascade); catcher - Mitch Harger (Alburnett); first base - Aaron Coghlan (Central City); second base -Whitman (Maquoketa Valley); third base - Matt Cleary (Central City); short stop - Tanner Coyle (Cascade); outfield - Kaleb McBurney (Alburnett), Mitch Holmes (Monticello) and Regan Takes (Cascade); utility - Brady Janssen (Starmont).

Honorable mention: Aaron Stolley (Alburnett), Nate McMullen (Cascade), Cody Akers (Central City), Craig Sperfslage (East Buchanan), Clark (Edgewood-Colesburg), Feltes (Maquoketa Valley), Ben Stutt (Monticello), Griffin Humphreys (North Linn), Jordan Scriver (Springville) and Austin Hamlett (Starmont).
