A pair of upcoming public hearings will most likely result in ATV/UTV users in Delaware County being able to drive on one Class B road in the county.
The Delaware County Board of Supervisors has scheduled the hearings for Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 9 for public comments on an amendment to County Ordinance 39, which regulates the operation of all-terrain and off-road vehicles in the county.
Supervisors are expected to approve operation on the Class B road located in Fountain Springs Park.
At a July meeting, supervisors approved a request from the Road-to-Trails Club to ride on the Fountain Springs road, primarily because the road is gravel instead of dirt. The request from the club had received approval from county conservation officials.
The supervisors also:
• Approved the usage of county roads 180th Avenue and 275th Street for the Hero Hustle Triathlon Sunday, Aug. 25.
• Approved resolutions donating obsolete computer equipment to the 911 Commission and to fire departments in Ryan, Masonville and Delhi.
• Heard from Craig Davis that the Pioneer Road Bridge opened last week.
• Scheduled their next meeting for Monday, Aug. 19 at 1:15 p.m.
