We’re not the same person we were when we left

Nearly eleven years ago, I swore an oath to defend our constitution and our country, to follow the orders of the leaders appointed over me.  Over a million other young men and women have since taken the same oath.  We cannot count the miles we walked in the boots given us to wear, but we’ll tell you some of the memories we have of the journey we walked wearing those boots.  We hold every memory close to our hearts.  Some are treasured.  Some are hated.  But our journey in those boots has one thing in common.
