Authorities released the names of three people injured in Dubuque County during Sunday night’s storm.

The storm “completely destroyed” a mobile home on Roller Coaster Road, injuring two people. Ambrose and Marlene Koopman were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Sheriff Joe Kennedy said.

Their injuries are currently being attributed to high winds, but sheriff’s department officials are waiting on the National Weather Service to determine whether the damage to their mobile home was caused by a tornado, Kennedy said. The home was destroyed.

“There’s nothing left of it,” Kennedy said.

Also on the property, John Nolan was injured when a barn collapsed. Kennedy said Nolan went out to check on livestock when a portion of the building collapsed and struck him. His injuries were also non-life-threatening.

Kennedy said his department had received four reports of damaged buildings, but that emergency operations staff had received several more reports.

Most of the damage was to trees and power lines, though some roofs were ripped from buildings, Kennedy said.
