Authorities: Peosta parents exposed child to meth
Authorities said two Peosta parents exposed their 1-year-old child to methamphetamine.
Zachary A. Brenner, 34, was arrested at 10:09 a.m. Nov. 1 at the state correctional facility at 1494 Elm St. on a warrant charging child endangerment- meth exposure, as well as two probation violations. Nicole J. Hicks, 31, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 1 at Dubuque Law Enforcement Center on a warrant charging child endangerment- meth exposure.
Court documents state that an investigator responded to American Inn & Suites, 100 Peosta St., on Sept. 14 after receiving a report of a 1-yearold child being exposed to meth by her parents, Brenner and Hicks.
Hair samples of Brenner, Hicks and their child were sent to a lab for testing, documents state. All three tested positive for meth.
Authorities reported that both parents admitted to using the drug.
