Board puts local dentist on probation
According to a press release from the Iowa Dental Board, Dr. William George, who practices general dentistry in Dyersville, has been put on probation for failing to include periodontal charting in patient’s dental records, a violation of Iowa statute.
As a result, George’s license will be placed on probation for a period of two years. The release states if George retires prior to the expiration date of the probationary period, probation shall automatically terminate.
George has also been assessed a civil penalty of $750.
According to documents provided by the Iowa Dental Board, George’s license was issued in 1976 and is currently set to expire in 2022.
