Two great events on one day will be happening on Saturday, June 12. The Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering again with the Browns Foundation BBQ Competition and color run.
Downtown Summer Nights, formerly known as Downtown Friday Night, has a new name and logo. It is a free community event where families, residents and tourists can gather together on a summer evening. People are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
June 12 begins with a 5K Color Run and Kid’s Dash at 9:30 a.m. There is a Mac and Cheese contest at 11 a.m. and there will be a silent auction all day.
The band, Ziegfried Underground, will perform at 5 p.m. when the public can come and taste four different kinds of meats from the BBQ Competition. Come early as quantities are limited. Kids games, face painter and Happy Hour all kick off at that time.
“This event is a great way to relax and unwind on a summer evening while talking with people you haven’t seen for a while,” said Karla Thompson, executive director of the Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce. “This is a fun way to kick off the summer with your family, friends and neighbors.”
July’s Downtown Summer Night will be July 9 with the announcement of the Vacation/Cash Raffle winner.
