Dyersville awarded grant for Heritage Trail

The City of Dyersville has received a $242,000 grant that will ultimately help facilitate paving and relocating a portion of the Heritage Trail.

During discussions held in February, the council signaled it wanted to move the western-most section of trail to the north side of Beltline Road, and pave the approximately 3,300 feet from the existing picnic pavilion near Heritage Printing past Double L Group’s facility, to where the Heritage Trail officially begins.

While the project’s final cost hasn’t been officially determined, Mick Michel, city administrator, said it will likely not be completely covered by the grant, which was awarded through the DOT’s Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP).
