A fire inside Paladin in Delhi evacuated the south part of the manufacturing facility and called out firefighters shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Plant manager Shawn Britt said that the fire was contained to inside the powder coat oven and that no property damage occurred. A powder coat oven is used to "bake" a coat of powder paint onto a surface.

The Delhi fire department was called as a "precaution," said Britt, who is also a member of the department. He said that Delhi called out Manchester and Delaware departments after 31 fire extinguishers popped at Paladin, a statement confirmed by Delhi Fire Chief Joe Vorwald.

The south building was evacuated for about half an hour, and all operations would be back to normal the following day, Britt said.
