Goerdt Realty has merged with RE/MAX and moved to 117 Third Street SE. Diane Goerdt said RE/MAX was in need of a branch office in Dyersville and approached her last month about the merger.

Goerdt has been a realtor in Dyersville since 1999 and, in 2002, got her broker’s license. She said she liked the idea of the RE/MAX name recognition.

Goerdt said the housing market is strong in the area. Though interest rates went up slightly last month, they are still low, and many first time homebuyers are taking advantage of programs such as zero money down.

Pre-qualifying for a loan is important, according to Goerdt. It is relatively easy to do online and can give you a competitive advantage with a purchase.
