The Dubuque Museum of Art (DuMA) announced DuTrac Community Credit Union is the 2021 Arts Trek Sponsor as well as the sponsor for the K-12 Virtual Art Exhibition. DuTrac Community Credit Union is delighted to continue a partnership with DuMA to ensure arts education and appreciation is accessible to the young people in our community.
The Arts Trek program is a dedicated learning opportunity offered to all second graders in the Dubuque community, including Dubuque Community and Holy Family School Districts. Because of COVID-19, DuMA will present the Arts Trek program in a virtual format. The 20-minute video tour will introduce students to the museum, take them on a tour and provide educational content focusing on four (4) artworks.
The K-12 Virtual Art Exhibition plans to go live on April 9, for approximately one year and is open to all students K-12 in Dubuque County. Any child that provides an art submission will be accepted and exhibited. The goal is to present the work in a virtual gallery space while providing the audience with a museum-like experience when viewing the artwork. Submit work and learn more at http://dbqsch.org/388KEmT
“We are so grateful to partner with DuTrac and the schools to offer innovative ways for students to learn about Dubuque’s creative history and for us to experience the power of the students’ creativity,” shared Gary Stoppelman, Executive Director of the Dubuque Museum of Art. DuTrac’s partnership will help to fund a professional art educator to create rich, virtual content for the Arts Trek programs, individual art supplies for all students in the Arts Trek program and more.
“The Dubuque Museum of Art is a jewel for our region and DuTrac is proud to support this organization as well as the people who benefit from it,” said Andy Hawkinson, President and CEO of DuTrac. “Communities supporting the arts are an attraction for investments and economic endeavors.”
