The new batting cages are expected to be done this fall.

Bar Raising Fitness opened an athlete training facility in Dyersville this past summer. At the time, it was the gym’s second location with the other in Kennedy Mall in Dubuque. Sept. 10, via their Facebook page, they announced they were expanding on the Dyersville facility and adding batting cages.

Owner Brandon Hogan said that the training facility always did plan to add baseball and softball training areas.

“Teams, trainers, instructors and individuals will be able to rent the whole space for as long as they want,” Hogan said. “They will be able to schedule times and days in advance or even schedule the day of.”

A minimum of 30 minutes is required for rental.

Eventually, sports camps will be held there as well. The plan is for the facility to also be used as a space that can be rented out for birthday parties or other events.

The baseball and softball area will have turf flooring, two batting cages, a hitting net, pitching mounds, a pitching backstop, a turf batters mat, hitting tees, baseballs and softballs.

“We offer training for all types of athletes and strive to provide them with the right tools and education they need to reach their full potential,” Hogan said. “We will continue to upgrade our facilities to offer athletes even more options to work on their skills.”

Bar Raising Fitness got its start in Oct. of 2018 in Hogan’s garage. Since then, the business has seen rapid growth.

“These past two years have been very exciting for Bar Raising Fitness,” Hogan said. “From starting in my small, one car garage, to having two training facilities and now a baseball and softball facility — I can not thank everyone enough that has helped get to where we are at now. I could not have gotten to this point without them.”

Bar Raising Fitness plans to have its batting facility up and running later this fall. It is right next to its gym location in Dyersville, 775 6th St. NW.
