Following the Centers for Disease Control announcement last week making many people eligible to receive a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster shot to help increase their protection, MercyOne Pharmacy is now offering COVID-19 booster shots to the following groups as identified by CDC:

• People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings.

• People 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions.

• People 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions, based on their individual benefits and risks.

• People 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting.

All people receiving a booster shot must be at least six months out from their Pfizer primary series.

Booster shots are available at all six MercyOne pharmacy locations in Dubuque, Dyersville and Cascade. In addition, a booster clinic will be held at MercyOne Dubuque Cancer Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2. Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at MercyOne.org/dubuque.
