Police: Dyersville man offered $2k for naked toddler photos
Authorities have arrested a Dyersville man they say sought to purchase naked photos of a two-year-old for in February of this year.
Lance William King, 19, of Dyersville, was arrested on a warrant for the purchase/possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, May 21.
According to court documents, the Dyersville P.D. was informed of a Facebook conversation between King and the 2-year-old’s mother by the Dubuque Police Department on Feb. 18.
A search warrant states that King told the mother he would give the mother $2,000 if she sent naked photos of the child. King later denied sending any messages and reported that he was hacked.
After contacting King, authorities came into possession of his cellphone, which they say contained child pornography. Authorities also say the found search inquires for “dark web, dark web links, sex slaves for sale and sex slaves,” the warrant states.
King has posted an unsecured bond and has entered a plea of not guilty and demanded a speedy trial. A pretrial conference is scheduled for July 1 and a jury trial Aug. 2.
