Watershed survey results to be released online

After more than 400 area residents provided survey input about the future of the Maquoketa River Watershed, organizers say they will be releasing their findings later this month.

The results of the survey, as well as the strategic direction of the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority, will be shared during an online meeting Tuesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. The event is free and the public is encouraged to participate.

“Through this meeting residents will be able to engage with the planning team, a group of graduate students from the University of Iowa, to discuss their recommendations on addressing water-related issues,” a press release states. “The public forum is the culmination of a year’s worth of research and outreach, providing an opportunity for participants to learn about and comment on recommendations and strategies that will guide MRWMA’s actions in years to come.”

Registration and Zoom information is available on the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority (MRWMA) website www.maquoketariverwma.org.
