David was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Petersburg, the son of Anton “Tony” and Marcella (Kruse) Putz. After a brief service in the Army, Dave married Dolores Hellmann on Sept. 9, 1959, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Holy Cross. Together they enjoyed almost 62 years of marriage.
