Terry D. Weatherwax, 72, of Dyersville, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque after a brief illness.

Visitation was held from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Delhi.

Terry Dean Weatherwax began his journey Feb. 16, 1949, in Davenport, but he stopped counting years at the age of 27.

Terry was born to Charles Weatherwax and Esther “Jackie” (White) Traut. Terry graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1968 and went to Coe College for a short time. He started at Ertl Company in Dyersville in 1969, where he retired 43 years later.

Terry met his first wife, Charlene Russell, and were married in 1970. They had two beautiful children Eric Weatherwax and Nancy Weatherwax. They later divorced and Terry met his second wife, Sally Digman, and married in 1992, where they had another beautiful child, Abby Weatherwax, and later divorced.

Terry then met his current wife, Brenda (Bechler-Kueter) Weatherwax, and were married Dec. 25, 2010. Terry gained three wonderful step-children, Michelle Eilers, Nicole Funk and Ashley Dupont.

Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and loved everyone around him. He enjoyed repairing toy tractors and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Terry kept those around him laughing and being able to connect with one another.

Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda Weatherwax, his three children Eric Weatherwax (Jenny Esquibel) of Westminster, Colo., Nancy (Weatherwax) Edaburn of Farley and Abby Weatherwax (Tom Seitz) of Burlington. Terry is also survived by his three step-children Michelle (Rusty) Eilers of Guttenberg, Nicole Funk of Garnavillo and Ashley (Josh) Dupont of Sherrill; his grandchildren: Aidan and Kaylee Edaburn, Madison Eilers, Autumn Funk, Brayden, Bryce and Gracie Ann Dupont and one grandchild on the way, Nila Grace Seitz; siblings: Charles (Karen) Weatherwax of Spirit Lake, JoAnn (Harold) Francis of Pocahontas, Dave (Jane) Weatherwax of Delhi and his beloved dog, Buddy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Weatherwax and Esther “Jackie” Traut; his step-father Edward Traut; his sister-in-law, Patricia Weatherwax; his nephew Mark Weatherwax and his two grandchildren, Ava and Oliva Funk.
