Dave Baker was elected as Dubuque County Supervisor in 2016 and he has served as chairperson for the past two years. No one had a crystal ball to see the COVID-19 pandemic, but Baker has provided solid leadership during this unprecedented time. He pushed hard for increased COVID-19 testing in Dubuque County and worked with Emergency Management to assure an adequate supply of PPE is being maintained. During Baker’s first term, the Dubuque County Tax Levy was reduced for three consecutive years, an achievement that hadn’t occurred for decades. This resulted in saving Dubuque County taxpayers over $5,000,000. Through his efforts, Dave Baker has protected Sunnycrest Manor residents (including disabled Veterans) from a half-baked privatization scheme. Working with the Sunnycrest Board of Trustees and the Sunnycrest Manor Operations Board, the facility is recognized for high quality of care and the cost of providing care has decreased.

Dave Baker and his wife (Kathy) have been married for 43 years and they have three daughters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dave and Kathy are regular volunteers for the Dubuque Area Labor Harvest food pantry and they deliver groceries to elderly, needy and shut-ins in Dubuque County up to three days per week.

Please join me in voting to re-elect Dave Baker for a second term on the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors. He has worked hard for the citizens of Dubuque County and has earned our vote.
