I attended the city election forum Oct. 19 and the discussion turned to how to draw people to this community. When my husband and I moved here 30 years ago, our decision wasn’t motivated by entertainment, shopping, or recreation, it was driven by our faith.
We desired to have our children formed in Catholic schools and to worship in a beautiful church. We never had regrets. Hopefully, the newly elected mayor and councilpersons will remember that the reason this community is great is because of the faith foundation of the parish and schools. Our forefathers sacrificed their farms for their faith. There are families and businesses out there desiring a faith-based environment that will find our city appealing.
