In our books of life, Christmas 2021 is now history; therefore, we move forward to writing more chapters in our books of life for 2022.
Over the last year, all of the chapters in my book of life have been filled with joy, tears and laughter; however, the chapter our community wrote this Christmas time in itself would fill a book. There are stories to be told, tokens of appreciation to be given, and words of sincere gratitude to a community that is full of love and caring for others.
Sometimes I begin each Christmas project with trepidation, but I have learned after 33 years to never let trepidation stop me in my endeavors because it is really unwarranted.
This particular year, unlike any other, this project became a spiritual reality for me instead of mechanical motions. This was brought about because of you — the ever-loving and giving community.
I am sincerely and without reservation telling you, I had a tremendous amount of toys, paper goods, cleaning products, personal hygiene products and cash donations delivered to our door on any given day. Speaking of delivering, it was so awesome to have things ordered on the computer and shipped directly to me. I had lots of Christmases.
I am respectfully thanking every person who donated to this project to make it so successful. We were able to help everyone who needed assistance and then some. You are great people in this community which in turn makes engineering this project an honor and privilege for me.
In addition to donors, I have a staff who gave so unselfishly to pick up items, lift, sort, load, and deliver items when needed. Their help was worth its weight in gold.
Please read between the lines and feel my sincere gratitude to everyone who made this year’s Christmas toy project a success. I am filled with pride because of your generous spirits.
The used part of my program has now reopened. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.
