• A big “Thank You” to all who made my 90th birthday so special. A gracious and heart-felt thank you to my children for the fantastic day. It was great to have everybody together. The flowers, cards and food were awesome – especially the picture poster. What a great day.

The cards, phone calls, prayers and good wishes were very much appreciated. Thank you for making my 90th birthday a very special day. What memories to cherish.

• The family of Gilbert Willenborg wishes to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all who helped in any way at the time of his passing. You may have sent a card, made a phone call, sent a text, or come to the wake or funeral — all of these gestures were greatly appreciated. For those who could not attend, we understand, we know you were thinking of us.

A special thank you to Craig Kramer, and Kramer funeral home; you handled every detail, and met every one of our special requests. To Fr. Quint for the funeral mass, you highlighted Gib’s life perfectly. Your homily was perfect. Nick S. and Chris K., thank you for the beautiful music.

We can’t forget Gib’s care team for the past 5 ½ years at the Ellen Kennedy Living Center and Mercy One Senior Care. At the Kennedy Center, he was able to play cards every day, and that made his day. To the Mercy One Senior Care team – there are not enough words to say thanks. The Nursing staff, CNA’s, Maintenance, Nutrition made his last year the best it could be: fixing his chair, serving bacon every day, and doing a great job of taking care of him. You were his family these last several months. You were there, when we couldn’t be. THANK YOU.

To Hospice of Dubuque for keeping him comfortable in his final days.

And we can’t forget his roommate and the entire Klostermann Family. You were very good to Gib, bringing him lunch, talking to him on the phone, and may other gestures too numerous to mention. Don was a great roommate to Gib, we will miss talking to him and the family, and sharing stories.

To everyone that has been there for us, we THANK YOU.

Gib was a good man. He was a dad, a grandpa, a great grandpa, a brother-in-law, an uncle, and a good friend to many. He will be missed by many.

Thank you again,
