It is with great pride that Randy and Kori Mahoney of Dyersville, Eric and Jill of Fruita, Colo. and Michelle and Ben of Washington D.C., announce the upcoming wedding of their children, Brad Straavaldsen Mahoney and Brittany McCormick Walker.

Brad was born in Madison, Wis. and grew up in Dyersville. He attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash. earning a bachelor’s degree in Literature. Brad is currently a Wildland Fire Fighter based in Salt Lake City, Utah where he’s been a crew member and crew leader for four years.

Brittany was born in Jacksonville, N. C. and grew up in Stafford, Va. She attended Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va. earning a degree in Human Development. Brittany spent her early 20s working in conservation and as a Wildland Fire Fighter, before settling into her Teaching position at The Child’s Element Forest Preschool. She’s recently founded a new outdoor school, Grateful Gathering Farms. Which focuses on teaching children real-world skills through a hands-on methodology, while instilling an appreciation for our natural world.

They met while working on conservation and trail projects in the Puget Sound with the Washington Conservation Corps. During their time in the Corps, Brad and Brittany worked on various environmental restoration projects, as well as improving public access to outdoor recreation areas across the Pacific Northwest. They joined the Twin Peaks Initial Attack Crew in 2019 and continued working together.

Brad and Brittany will become Mr. and Mrs. Mahoney Nov. 20, before friends and family at a mountain lodge in Brighton, Utah.
