The competition dance team from Almost Famous Dance and Gymnastics recently had a successful weekend at the Kids Artistic Revue (KAR) competition, Feb. 26-28, in Davenport.

AFDG is under the direction of Amanda Hackney and Melissa Ehrisman with the assistance of Kaitlyn Hunt and Taylor Martensen.

“Almost Famous had a fantastic weekend bringing home numerous placings and top adjudications,” the coaches said. “Almost Famous also donated their team trophies back to KAR’s trophy donation program for Dancers Against Cancer. AFDG donated $163.46. So very proud of them.”

Overall solo placings include: first — Alaina Mead; second — Emma Kramer and Kendra Davis; third — Morgan Ward and Myra Wilson; fourth — Jillian Miller and Arrianna Jones; fifth — Haddie Foxen, Sadie Erion, Annie Schlarmann and Maddie Ward; sixth — Skylar Freeze and Bree Erion; seventh — Paisley Ploessel, Cameron Vargason and Addie Feldmann; ninth — Saige Freeze and Brianna Neuhaus; 10th — Tessa Intorf and Cheyenne Byrd; 20th — Leah Smith.

Placing in the duet competition were: first — Sadie Erion and Kaylee Hollenback (You’ve Got A Friend); second — Sadie Erion and Alania Mead (Big Finish).

Overall group placings include: first — Wizard of Oz, Five Little Monkeys and Spice Girls; second — Ice Cream Social; third — Bathing Beauties; fourth — Fields of Gold; fifth — Better Days, Make You Feel My Love, It’s Been a Year and I Don’t Think About You; seventh — Spell on You; eighth — Do Wah Ditty; ninth — Because You Loved Me.

Special award winners were: Best Costume Award — Five Little Monkeys; Judge’s Choice — Spice Girls, Because You Loved Me, Spell on You; Miss KAR Runner-Up — Sadie Erion; and Most Entertaining Small Group — It’s Been a Year.
