A pair of tumblers from Almost Famous Dance and Gymnastics earned state titles at the USTA Power Tumbling State Competition in Clive, April 24.
Izabella Austin and Nixon Lewin earned state titles
The flight award winners were: first — Izabella Austin, Nixon Lewin; second — Kenzie Babbe, Joslynn Kray, Skylar Christensen, Violet Friedmann and Alaina Mead; third — Audrey Geraghty and Whitney Long; fourth — Madelyn Capalla and Emma Brockhohn; fifth — Victoria Capalla, Haddie Foxed, Callie Hunt and Isla Stoneking; sixth — Sophia Jellison; seventh — Emerlynn Wright; eighth — Harper Cox, Mallory Dwight and Eden Stoneking.
The Almost Famous competition gymnastics team is coached by Andrea Rundle and Paige Kremer and is under the direction of Amanda Hackney and Melissa Ehrisman.
“We are so proud of our gymnasts,” the coaches said. “We want to congratulate them on an amazing season, and would like to wish the best of luck to those who will be attending the national competition.”
