Blazer Kaylee Lehmann takes one of several corner kicks the Blazers were awarded during their game with West Delaware.

In games that ended the regular season, the Beckman girls’ soccer team blanked both opponents, West Delaware May 18 at home, 10-0, and South Tama there May 20, 7-0.

In the West Delaware win, which lasted just one half, the girls scored early and quickly. Sydney Reitzler completed a hat trick with three goals, Kennedy Arens had two, Isabelle Kluesner, Evelyn Sadler, Emma Coohey, Olivia Hogan and Reese Osterhaus, pulled out of goal for the deed, one.

“This was Senior Night for the girls,” said coach Greg Keegan, “and a good game for our seniors to play together. Seven of the 10 goals came from the seniors and all three assists. I would like to congratulate them on their graduation and a great season.”

Shots on goal came from Arens with five, Reitzler four, Kluesner and Osterhaus three, Sadler and Coohey two, Hogan, Macy Recker, and Lucy Jang one. Kluesner, Reitzler and Coohey notched assists; Osterhaus had one save as did Breanna Coohey.

After Arens opened scoring at South Tama in the 14th minute, their second goal came in the 33rd minute from Hope Naber, ending the half up just 2-0. “The second half was a whole lot different”, said Keegan. “Isabelle scored at 42:36, though we didn’t score again until Kennedy took the ball herself up the middle and made a couple defenders miss to put it in the back of the net at the 64:25 mark. Then we had three quick goals from Olivia, Sydney and Kaylee Lehmann.

“South Tama played aggressive defense and that is just what we needed to prepare for our first Regional game, against Cedar Valley Christian at home Wednesday at 5:00 pm.”

Notching shots on goal were Arens eight, Kluesner and Trista Schmidt seven, Hogan and Reitzler five, Naber three, Lehmann and Emma Coohey two, Sadler one. Assists came from Naber, Arens and Hogan, all one. Osterhaus made two saves.
