Beckman’s cross country teams ended in 18th (girls) and 19th (boys) places at the Starmont Invitational Sept. 17 around the campus in Arlington.
“Starmont is always one of the larger meets that we go to,” coach Tyson Squiers said. “The atmosphere is definitely different with that many schools, athletes and fans. It gives us more people to compete with.”

“Isabelle ran 0:57 faster than last year, while Olivia bettered her time by over 30 seconds. Savanah continues to make it look easy beating her previous time by 14 minutes. Sydney ran over four minutes faster and Jordan ran her PR, which was over 30 seconds faster than her previous times.”

“Auden had an amazing race, running a minute faster than his 2018 time and earning a PR of over a minute as well,” Squiers said. “Jack ran his fastest time of the year. Our team spread was only 1:19, which is pretty impressive. That means our top five runners were all within almost a minute of each other at the finish. That is a nod to our back running that is building.”
