Bowling at Cobra Lanes Dec. 17, Western Dubuque’s boys’ bowling team took out Cedar Falls, 3,116 to 2,923, rolling three of the top five individual totals.

Nolan Morrison tied for the top with Cedar Falls’ Owen Brinker, rolling 435 (237, 198). Jude Ludwig totaled 428 (268, 160), Aidan Besler 396 (225,171), Ethan Potter 393 (217,176) and Nick Sweeney 382 (203, 179). Nolan Vaske did not count with 379 (191, 198).

The Bobcats led after the regular round, 1,978 to 2,034. They added to the lead in their baker’s round, rolling stellar games of 171, 196, 254, 236 and 225, for 1,082, compared to the Tigers’ 171, 225, 191,170 and 189 for 946.

Coach Grant Kramer was pleased. “The boys did a great job Friday. They had their best meet of the season. They started out hot right out of the gate and never slowed down. They averaged roughly 216 pins in the baker games. This was a great meet for building their confidence. We still have some things to work on but we’re heading in the right direction.”
