During the final night of men’s league play at the Dyersville Golf & Country Club, Jim Boeckenstedt aced the par-three third hole, using a wedge.

“The ball landed about three inches in front of the green and rolled to the hole,” said Boeckenstedt. “The pin was in the right front corner and you know you don’t want to be short there.”

The ace was the sixth of his career. “I think maybe the first is the most fun, because you have never had one. But this was still fun. It all depends on where the pin is.”

Boeckenstedt was playing with Matt Schmitz against Jack Kreeb and Syl Gansemer.
