Beckman senior Isabelle Kluesner has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Mount Mercy this fall.
The ceremony took place at Beckman May 25, with her family, soccer coach Greg Keegan and principal Marcel Kielkucki attending. Kielkucki is a Mount Mercy grad and member of the alumni advisory board.
Kluesner, when asked why she chose Mount Mercy, said, “Because of soccer but also because they have the best graphic design curriculum in the state and that’s what I want to major in. I first took a graphic design class with Mr. Wade my sophomore year and fell in love with it.”
Kluesner will be coached by Alan Kudumovic in college, called “Coach K by the rest of the team. They all seemed like really great people and I felt very comfortable there.”
She will begin practice Aug. 6 for their regular fall season, “though they do compete for about two weeks in the spring as well. I will be playing forward/midfield there like I do here,” she added.
Mount Mercy is an NAIA school.
