The Dyersville Golf & Country Club hosted the annual Lions’ 4-Person Best Shot Tournament Sept. 21 with a revised format due to COVID-19 protocols.
Instead of the day-ending banquet, players received a gift certificate donated by Fareway. Prizes were limited to raffle drawings and players gathered outside after play.
But the changes didn’t hurt the level of play. A 53 from the Matt Ungs foursome took first place, followed by a 56 from the Steve Salter four and a 57 from Matt Goerdt’s players.
In the first flight, it was three 60s, from Terry Bockenstedt’s four, Ric Willenborg’s and Paul Ahern’s.
The second flight went to another 60, from Duane Roling’s foursome, followed by Ed Burlage’s 63 and Jeff Knepper’s 65.
The third flight was won with a 66 from Steve Becker’s four, while Jacque Rahe’s group was next with 67 and Tom Burlage’s third with 68.
Flag events were won by Ellyse Ungs (No. 1), Ted Deacon (No. 3), Bob Krapfl (No. 5), Bob Olberding (No. 7) and Jeff Jacque (No. 9).
