Maquoketa Valley’s Timmy Harman dominates in his match against Beckman’s Ty Fangman.

Maquoketa Valley placed eighth in the Tri-Rivers Conference Tournament, Feb. 1, at Starmont.

Lisbon won the team title with 293 points. Alburnett was second (149), North Linn third (139.5), Ed-Co fourth (124), Starmont fifth (116.5), East Buchanan sixth (112), Midland seventh (70), Maquoketa Valley eighth (66), Central City ninth (26).

Evan Elgin led the team with a second-place finish at 182 pounds and scored 18 team points. After receiving a first-round bye, he bested Starmont’s Skyler Jaster in 3:06, in the semifinal match. In the first-place, Elgin lost a 4-3 decision to Lisbon’s Truman Krob.

Michael Schaul (138), Tim Harmon (170) and Carter Kruse (195) all finished third. Devin Smith (220) finished sixth.

MV competed in a quad at Beckman, Jan. 27, and suffered losses to Clayton Ridge, Bellevue and the host team.

Clayton Ridge earned a 30-26 win over MV, despite all of the Eagle points coming via Wildcat forfeits.

Carter Kruse pinned Josh Hertenstein in 3:33. Tim Harmon earned an 18-1 technical fall over Andrew Mitchell in 3:21. Devin Smith and Michael Schaul received forfeits.

Beckman tallied a 72-6 win over MV.

Harmon earned the lone points of the match for the Wildcats when he pinned Ty Fangman in 3:25.

Bellevue beat MV, 27-15.

Harmon earned his third win of the night when he pinned Jayden Keane in 1:52. Kruse earned a 7-4 sudden victory over Luke Giesemann. Smith received a forfeit.

MV suffered losses to Edgewood-Colesburg, North Fayette Valley and Monticello at a quad meet in Monticello Jan. 20.

Ed-Co earned a 57-12 win over the Wildcats.

Schaul scored MV’s first points when he pinned Chase Kirby in 3:11. Kruse received a forfeit.

The Wildcats won all four of their matches against Monticello, but fell, 54-24.

Schaul pinned Ty Jesenovec in 3:34. Smith recorded a win by fall over Ian Taylor in 5:44. Both Harmon and Kruse received forfeits.

North Fayette Valley closed out the meet with a 63-9 win over MV.

Smith earned a 9-5 decision over Isaiah Corbin. Kruse received a forfeit.
