300 Raceway hosts annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic
300 Raceway (formerly Farley Speedway) is set to host the 42nd annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic. The event will offer over $100,000 in prize money to the Midwest best Dirt Track Racers.
The Yankee will get underway on Wednesday, Aug. 21 with an open practice session and an optional King of the Hill race in all four classes. Grandstands will open at 6 p.m. and will offer free admission. Thursday, Aug. 22 will see a full show in all four classes, Late Models, Modified, Sport mods and Stock Cars. Grandstands will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30, racing will follow. Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults; students and military will be admitted for $12; 12-and-under plus 70-and-older will be admitted free.
Friday, Aug. 23 will be championship night with another full show in all classes being headlined by a 50-lap Late Model feature paying $12,000 to the winner. The Modified will also race 50 laps for $5,000 to win. Friday night the Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. with opening ceremonies slated for 7 p.m. Adult admission for Friday’s show will be $25; students and military will be $18; 12-and-under plus 70-and-older will be admitted free.
