Youngest Blazers split with Mustangs, Spartans

Solon hosted the youngest Beckman Blazers, Nov. 4, and split the games, taking the first, 26-15, and dropping the second, 23-20.

When Mount Vernon came to town Nov. 8, the Mustangs went home splitting as well. The first game was a Beckman loss, 37-29, but the second was a win, 31-10.

“That second game (with Mount Vernon) was by far the best we’ve played this year,” said coach Rachel Engelken. “At the start of the day I had the girls list their own goal to hit. Hannah crushed her goal, excelling in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals.”

In the Mount Vernon games, Hailey Kruse hit 17, Hannah Schlichte 10, Addi Hogan and Isabel Kluesner eight, Paige Fangman and Chloe Thier four, Amaya Koelker three, Brianna Pirc and Zoe Recker two.
