The Maquoketa Valley volleyball team lost seven matches last week, all of them on the road. The Wildcats lost to Starmont, 3-0, Sept. 21 and 3-0, to North Linn, Sept. 23, before ending the week losing five matches at the Denver Invitational, Sept. 25.
Maquoketa Valley lost 25-14, 25-10 and 25-9 to Starmont. Carissa Sabers led the team with four kills, followed by Kylie Chesnut with three, Molly Anderegg and Bianka Ronnebaum two and Haley Ronnebaum one.
Sabers added seven assists, while Kennedy Rausch had three and Chesnut one. Haley Ronnebaum was credited with three blocks, while Chesnut had two and Anderegg one. McKenna Thompson led with 17 digs, Sabers eight, Avery Krapfl five, Bianka Ronnebaum and Lili Baures three, Leah Ries, Anne Deutmeyer, Rausch and Chesnut two and Lily Huber, Haley Ronnebaum and Anderegg one.
The Wildcats were 32-for-33 serving, with Anderegg and Thompson going 6-for-6, Krapfl 5-for-5, Ries, Rausch and Kendra Hillers 4-for-4 and Sabers 3-for-4.
Maquoketa Valley fell to North Linn 25-10, 25-15 and 25-9. Sabers turned in seven kills, while Chesnut, and Bianka Ronnebaum had four and Haley Ronnebaum and Anderegg one. Rausch had seven assists, Sabers six, Deutmeyer and Keira Leytem one.
Chesnut led with a pair of blocks, with Deutmeyer, Haley Ronnebaum, Sabers and Bianka Ronnebaum one.
Ries led with eight digs, while Thompson had seven, Hillers five, Krapfl four, Chesnut and Rausch three and Haley Ronnebaum, Sabers, Anderegg and Leytem one.
Ries and Rausch led in serving, going 8-for-8, Ronnebaum and Sabers 3-for-3, Anderegg 5-for-6, Hillers 3-for-4 and Thompson 1-for-2.
At Denver, the Wildcats lost to Tripoli 21-17 and 21-15, Denver 21-9, 21-9, Starmont 24-22 and 21-14, Sumner-Fredericksburg 21-6 and 21-8 and Beckman 21-7, 21-6.
