Wahlert fell by a mere 10 points in a tight dual to Senior Oct. 5, 93-83, a meet that ended their regular season.
Coach Emily Snyder called it “our best meet overall this season and we have lots to be proud of. We raised our team power points from 1999 to 2129 to move us up in the state rankings.”
Beckman swimmers helped the point total for the Eagles as Kelly Snyder was part of two second-place finishes, the 200-medley with Avery Schmidt, Natalie Kelzer and Brooke Wuebker and her individual 100-breaststroke. She came in third in the 200 IM and was part of the third-place 200-free relay with Taylor Borgerding, Jessie Then and Mia Brooner. Then was also part of a third-place 200-medley relay with Taylor Weig, Cate Ihrig and Borgerding. Then came in fifth in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle.
In the JV races, Mary McKean placed third in the 50 Freestyle and first in the 100 Breaststroke.
The Eagles have three championship meets ahead, the MVC Super, the City Championship and regionals, the qualifying meet to move on to the one-class state swim meet Nov. 12-13.
