Wahlert swimming ended fifth in the merged standings of the four various pods that competed, Oct. 17, in the MVC Super Meet.

Wahlert’s pod included Dubuque Senior and Hempstead. Wahlert scored 478, topping both schools. Hempstead tallied 380, Senior 376.

In the meet, Blazer Kelly Snyder took fifth in the 200 Individual medley (IM). Jessie Then was ninth in the 100 Fly and fifth in the Breast stroke. Both swam on the 200 medley relay that was ranked as the B relay (non-point scoring).

Iowa City West won the meet with 500 points, followed by CR Kennedy 313, Linn Mar 286, Cedar falls 265, Wahlert 167, Senior 156.5, Waterloo 127, Iowa City High 111, CR Jefferson and CR Washington 108 and Hempstead 81.5.

Coach Emily Snyder added, “It was a great start to our championship portion of the season. There was lots of fast swimming. All the hard work these ladies have put in over the past three months pays off during this portion of the season.”
