Maquoketa Valley’s wrestling team got back in action Jan. 3 when the Wildcats hosted Anamosa, Center Point-Urbana and Wahlert for a quad meet. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they were not able to secure a team win.

The Wildcats opened the meet with a 66-12 loss to Anamosa.

Carter Kruse (195) won by fall and Dylan Lane (132) received a forfeit to earn the Wildcats’ only points.

Michael Schaul (138), Tim Harmon (170) and Devin Smith (220) all lost by fall. Evan Elgin (182) lost by injury default. MV forfeited at 145, 152, 160, 285, 106, 120 and 126.

Center Point-Urbana scored a 60-21 win over MV.

Harmon and Kruse both won by fall with Smith winning by a 7-3 decision. Elgin won by forfeit.

Schaul and Lane both lost by fall. MV forfeited at 145, 152, 160, 285, 106, 113 and 126.

Wahlert defeated Maquoketa Valley, 48-22.

Elgin and Kruse both pinned their opponents. Schaul won with an 8-0 major decision. Harmon won by forfeit.

Lane suffered a 5-3 decision and Smith lost a 4-3 decision.

MV forfeited at 145, 152, 160, 285, 113, 120 and 126.
